He criticized the Oscars for applauding Will Smith, stating that Hollywood is spineless.

The discussion over Will Smith's unexpected slap at the 94th Academy Awards continues

Jim Carrey has told CBS's Gayle King that he did not approve of the Oscars audience

“I was sickened by the standing ovation,” Carrey added. “Hollywood is just spineless en masse, and it really felt like it was a clear indication that we aren’t the cool club anymore.”

Carrey said that Smith "should have been" escorted from the Dolby Theatre after slapping Rock for making an insensitive joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

According to the LA Police Department, Rock declined to file charges against Smith.

The Academy began formally reviewing the incident with possible ramifications for Smith. The King Richard star issued an apology to Rock.
